Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway is the latest from developer Gearbox Software and publisher Ubisoft. The game is based on a true story following the exploits of the 502nd Parachute Infantry regiment of the 101st Airborne Division in World War II. The games story is centered around the colossal failures of Operation Market Garden which took place in Holland. This being such a popular franchise on Xbox 1 its sure to be a hit for the next-gen consoles, right?
The story is true and it's good, but unfortunately it's not portrayed well. Long boring cut-scenes plague this game. There's so much that didn't need to be in the game and yet they left it in. I understand that because its based on true story you want to keep as much in as possible, but they just don't know when to quit. To be honest, it seems they did a better job with the last- gen games then they did with this installment.
The graphics are mediocre at best and the game lacks polish. There are a ton of glitches in the game as well. Enemies occasionally just stand in the open oblivious to what going on around them. And sometimes when firing on the enemy you can't hit your target. It's almost like the enemy is hiding behind invisible cover. This leads to some serious aggravation. The game just seems sloppy and stitched together. It's hard to believe that they play tested this game. Another draw back in the graphics department are the animations. They are basic and uninspired, and you can tell that the developer didn't spend allot of time and effort in the creative process. Everything in this game is so bland. And to make things worse the frame rate drops in an out. Like I said before this game lacks polish. The controls don't respond as well as they should either. Especially when you try to crouch. Now, you can take cover like in RB6: Vegas (a welcome addition to the gameplay mechanic) but it's not executed well. This is extremely bad in the heat of battle and it will kill you. Now giving
orders is cool as it should be but AGAIN the controls don't work well. When you tell your squad to go somewhere they don't always go where you tell them too. Naturally, this puts your squad at risk and they will most likely die. And the same goes for firing on an enemy via using your squad. If you tell your bazooka squad to fire on an enemy emplacement, they will probably miss, or they will shoot the sandbag right in front of them. Wow, this is some ground breaking A.I.

If you tell your bazooka squad to fire on an enemy emplacement, they will probably miss, or they will shoot the sandbag right in front of them. Wow, this is some ground breaking A.I.The sound is good, but it won't win any awards. The weapons sound good and authentic. But, your squad constantly repeats the same dialogue over and over. This hurts the game, but luckily you can turn this option off in the menus. The acting in these long and boring cut-scenes are done well. But, it's just to much nonsense. They should have focused a bit more on the action in the cinemas. It would have helped the game more than anything.
This game will take you about 8-10 hours to complete with three difficulty options to choose from. The online aspect of the game is average. Your put into a squad or team of four pitting you against the other teams. It's all very standard and not groundbreaking by any means. And you'll be lucky if you can find anyone to play with. All in all it's a great idea, but it's not put together very well. It seems to me that the developer ran out of time and money and it shows. If your a die hard WWII fanatic then I would recommend this game as a rental and a rental only. It's not that the game is bad, it just wasn't done right.Reviewed By Trilithium 4

Your right Jackedup. I totally forgot about that one. And Merc Socom is cool but the design for the controls are questionable. And of course no one still talks on PS3! What a downer. I'm actually debating on wether or not to keep it because none of my LIVE friends have it, and they probably wont get it. A major downer. Calling all friends please get SOCOM

Nice review, but I don't like the dark look of the site, I think you should make it brighter with blues or greens or make the ninjas white
