What's Your Opinion
This the first of three add-ons promised by Bethesda, I really hope this is the standard because it's set the bar pretty high. With you starting off by getting an emergency radio signal on your Pip-boy which leads you to an Outcast base, in which you are asked to enter a simulation of the battle of Anchorage. The battle of Anchorage is part of Fallout 3's history where Alaska is invaded by the Chinese and the won back by the Americans, you are put into a simulation of this battle and you have to complete the tasks given to unlock the door to a safe of goodies that the Outcasts can't open because they need your wrist computer (your pip-boy).
Once your in the simulator you'll be in closed in a giant egg and then taken into the simulation, where you'll start your first task. This one can be done stealthy or Rambo style, I went with Rambo because I'm a high level and rubbish at sneaking but I would expect it's better to sneak, plus the game regulates the difficulty to your level. when you go into the simulation you won't have any of your items just the given ones, which is a silenced pistol and a combat knife. You don't need your stimpacks or food to heal yourself because there are little red canisters spread around in specific spots that dispense health when ever you need it. Same goes for ammo so you need to save as much as possible, especially because Operation Anchorage is very combat heavy with little exploration or anything else.In an attempt to add some exploration, Bethesda have added ten Intel briefcases and if you collect all ten you are rewarded a special perk called covert-ops. This perk adds 3 points to the Science, Lock pick and small guns skills which at level 20 can be pretty useful. These Intel briefcases can be found through out Operation Anchorage so keep a look out.
The length of any DLC is pretty important because it can determine whether it's worth going back to the game, also the length can determine whether it's worth the price. Now if I told you this lasted me roughly 6 hours and other people have told me it lasted them 8
hours, but I also told you that the gameplay is solid and is jam packed with new experiences, awesome Gauss rifles and your own squad with optional robot. Then I told you this DLC pack costs 800 Microsoft points and you will scream is this juicey peice of pie worth it, I say YES. That is why I'm giving Operation Anchorage an A.Reviewed by Nick

Good review. I thought this was good but my character sucked at combat so I was screwed lol

The combat isn't too bad in the game but it definitely isn't its strongest suit. I am glad to hear that The Pitt is going to have exploration.
